Edition 02: Fall in Love (With Your Life)

A few years ago, I was working on a project with an incredible A-list celebrity. She’s always been uniquely stunning, but something had shifted—she looked even more radiant in her 50s than she had in her 30s. It wasn’t just beauty—it was glow.

Peter and I were sitting with the client, just talking about how stunning she looked, and I said, “She just has this glow about her.”

The client paused for a second, then said, “You know what it is?”

I said, “No, what?”

She said, “She’s in love. When you’re in love, you glow.”

Peter and I just melted. And honestly—it’s true.

I remember when I was falling in love with Peter, a woman who hadn’t seen me in a few years told me “life looks good on you.” I had a glow. Or I think I did. I felt lighter, fuller, more alive.

But as I look back on that now, I don’t think that glow only comes from romantic love. I really believe it can come from falling in love with your life.

The people you surround yourself with. The home you create. The rituals you keep. The meals you cook with intention. The way you make space to feel known, lived in. That is part of what I am hoping to explore, create and foster in doing these weekly emails and beyond.

There’s nothing like falling in love with someone, sure. But there’s also something magical about falling in love with your own rhythm, your own path, your own peace.

It’s something I want to teach my children one day—that being loved is beautiful, but being known… being truly known, seen, and felt… that’s what it’s all about. And you don’t need another person for that—you can be known by the life you’ve built.

That’s what I’ve been trying to do lately—fall in love with my life. In a soft, whimsical, slow kind of way. The kind of love that unfolds quietly, in little rituals and tiny joys.

At the bottom of this note, I’ve included a little love meditation (it’s only 7-minutes). It’s incredibly special to me. We had it read at our wedding and asked all of our guests to pause and breathe through it with us during the ceremony. The meditation is about romantic love, but I think that’s transversal—it can apply to so many parts of our lives if we shift the focus slightly.

Meditation For Attracting And Being In Love

Every time I listen to it, it brings me back to myself. It usually makes me cry—but in the best, most grounding, heart-opening way.

This isn’t me saying “go fall in love” in the romantic sense (although, yes, that’s wonderful too).

This is more: I hope you fall in love with your life. Because I think—maybe—that’s even more important.

With love and a little glow,
Monica
